‘Upcycling’ is a process of taking pieces of fabrics that would otherwise be thrown away and turning them into unique garments.

Mayamiko

Mayamiko is a women's wear and life style brand, producing clothes, accessories and homeware, lovingly made in Malawi. Mayamiko’s collections are cross-seasonal and are inspired by artisanal traditions, with ethical trading and sustainability at the core. Alongside statement African textiles, Mayamiko took its commitment to sustainable materials forwards by introducing GOTS certified organic cotton pieces and upcycled textiles. Mayamiko also collaborates with artisans all over the globe such as Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Laos, Kenya and Italy on bespoke collections. Mayamiko’s profits are re-invested in the community through the work of the Mayamiko Trust, a charity that provides knowledge and skills disadvantaged women need to grow their own businesses and improve their communities.

Paguro

We believe in upcycling: the innovative process of taking everyday materials and using them to create beautiful objects. We work with designers who have taken the upcycling ethos as their guiding principle. The aim of our shop is to share their creativity with you.

What Daisy Did

What Daisy Did is a shop formed from all the wonderful bags I source on my travels, which in turn funds my travelling.
Having an environmental conscience, where possible I source recycled, natural and wasted materials. My products are made in developing countries and I maintain a close relationships with the artisans and their families.

Eco925

We are proud to state that our jewellery is truly eco-friendly. Going beyond using recycled eco-silver and recycled packaging, we strive to create jewellery that our customers can be proud to wear.  Eco925 is committed to helping protect the environment in any way it can.

Paga Bags

Paga Bags is an Eco-Fashion Social Company that produces and markets handbags, accessories and jewellery made of recycled and organic materials in collaboration with local women associations and artisans in Burkina Faso.

Trashy Bags

Our products are made from reclaimed plastic drinking water and ice-cream sachets which we do not reprocess in any way apart from cleaning. This has the benefit that very little energy is used in order to add value to material that would otherwise be dumped or burned.  In addition, by incorporating the original and complete sachets into our products, it demonstrates in a very visible way that it is possible to increase the life span of plastic packaging and so help to tackle the very serious problem of environmental pollution in Africa and elsewhere.

TO THE MARKET

TTM showcases handmade goods made exclusively by proud and passionate artisans who have overcome the perils of abuse, conflict, and disease. By assisting local partners around the world in bringing these goods “to the market,” we take an active role in equipping the survivors they employ with economic independence, while raising awareness of the challenges that they face.

Uplifted Accessories

UpLifted Accessories offers a contemporary and eclectic collection of upcycled, wearable art jewellery. Founded in East London by designer/maker Emma Fox, we aim to produce contemporary eco jewellery from used, unwanted, and discarded materials. We believe that any material, worked in the right way can be transformed into something not only stunning, but also precious.

Turtle Doves

We love to make recycled, ethical clothing out of pre-loved cashmere knitwear. Our original Turtle Doves recycled gloves are still our best-seller but we are always busy creating new designs and seeking out new fabrics to recycle.
