Arthur & Henry & Frugi: organic clothing for all the family in Organic September

arthur and ethical cotton shirtsArthur & Henry was conceived in 2009 at the World Congress on Organic Cotton when it was observed that most of men there, though convinced of the benefits of organic cotton farming, were not actually wearing any. Because they were suited and booted and couldn’t find the kind of shirts they wore for work in organic cotton.

Roll forward a few years (it takes a while from conception to birth to toddlerhood in the world of clothing) and Arthur & Henry now has a core collection of classic men’s shirts alongside limited edition runs and they are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified.

Because organic cotton farming helps our Indian smallholder cotton farmers.  Including through ensuring better food security.  Organic systems rotate and intersperse cotton with food crops thus providing farming families and their communities with a more stable, accessible, abundant and diverse food supply.  In addition income from organic farming is more stable due to greater crop diversity and net profits are often higher, or at least similar, due to significantly reduced input costs.

So it’s not suprising that we’re big fans of Organic September, the Soil Association’s annual shindig where we celebrate and promote all things organic.

arthur and henry and frugiThis Organic September we’ve teamed up with the brilliant baby and childrenswear brand Frugi, who feel the same way Arthur & Henry do about cotton farming and farmers, and about making quality clothes, for a fantastic giveaway: win £50 of their clothing + every entry gets a discount on Arthur & Henry organic men’s shirts.
